Call Sheets
I've made some call sheets for the shooting of the music video, so that I have a schedule of all the shots in order, based on location. This will ensure that the filming process is as organised, effective and smooth as possible.

Budget
The budget for the music video mostly consists of travelling costs, but there are also some things I needed to buy. For almost all the shots, I need coloured lighting; in some shots there are two lighting sources present at the same time. So I bought two (identical) wireless RGB lamps that I could switch the colours on; I chose a lamp model that runs on batteries, so that I could use them at the filming locations without needing to plug them in. The two of them together, plu

Risk Assessment
In this post, I'll be analysing the risks of making this music video, grouped by location. First location: tunnel The tunnel itself is an under-road crosswalk, so the risks are quite minimal. The shots don't include anything risky, besides blowing out a candle, which shouldn't be too dangerous. Second location: parking lot In this location, there are slightly more risks. First, there's the possibility of slipping on the stairs while filming, which could result in some s

Props
The music video will not require many props, because the shots are mostly focused on the character and the locations. However there are still a few things I need to have ready for when I start filming. first, there is the candle, which is necessary for a few shots; I'll also need to bring a lighter, especially because there's a high chance I'll need to redo the shots a few times until I get them right then there's the glass, which I need to break for one of the shots, and the

Characters
The music video will only have one character, as I think that's very fitting given that the song's main themes are emotional turmoil and change, shown through some very abstract and metaphoric lyrics. I've also written the script already, and it only requires one person. A friend of mine agreed to model for me in the music video. After writing the script, I debriefed him on what he'd have to do, and he was happy to help. Here's a picture of him: I've chosen him because his

Music Video - Storyboards Development & Animatic
To help me visualise the music video better, I drew some storyboards following the script I've written. I drew them on my reMarkable, and unfortunately the highlighter tool I was using for the lighting only had six colours, none of which were red. So in the storyboards, the red lighting mentioned in the script is represented in orange. Here are the storyboards: After I finished drawing them, I edited them into a video, to see how they'd look in the actual music video: This

Music Video - Script
I've made the script for the music video, trying to be as detailed as possible with the angles, camera movement and lighting. Below is the script (the text in grey italics is the song's lyrics; it was easier for me to keep track of the shots and their order this way). It's the longest script I've ever written, and it took hours to complete, but I think it was worth it. In the next post, I'll be drawing the storyboards.

Analysis of Digipaks and Instagram Posts
In this post, I'll be looking at some digipak covers and Instagram posts, in order to get a clearer idea of what I need to create for my minor tasks. I was going to analyse some digipaks from Silent Planet and Spiritbox, since I really like their style and I want to create something similar, but I unfortunately don't own any of their official CDs, and I was unable to find pictures of them online, so I chose two CDs from my own collection to analyse. The first one is Deep Sh

Analysis Of Music Videos
In this post, I'll be analysing two music videos that are similar to the video I'm aiming to create, so that I can get a better understanding of some technical things (such as camera positioning and movement, lighting etc) that I could incorporate in my own video, as well as get some inspiration and a clearer idea of how I want the video to look. First, I looked at the official music video of Antimatter . Here are some key frames I've selected from it: One of the first thin

Moodboard - Minor Tasks
This moodboard is mostly for the digipak, not so much for the social media post (however I'm sure it'll still be useful for that one too). Same as for the music video, I needed to organise my ideas and the atmosphere I had in mind for the digipak, so I found some pictures that encompass that feeling and look I'm going for. They're partially inspired by the original album cover of the song I'll be using (the album is Superbloom by Silent Planet, and the song is Antimatter ).

Moodboard - Major Task
To get a better idea of what I want the music video to look like, I created a moodboard consisting of some photos that have a similar atmosphere to what I was picturing for the music video. This will help me have a starting point for the visual aesthetic of the video, and maybe also some inspiration for some shots or locations. Here is the moodboard:

Research Into Conventions - Minor Task
In this post, I will be researching Digipak and social media (Instagram) post conventions: In my Digipak, I'd like to include all of the conventions listed above, and I also plan on actually printing everything out and putting them in a CD case and everything, because I'm actually a really big fan of CDs. As for the social media post, I will most likely be making it an image, as that's the type of Instagram content I usually enjoy and consume the most; it will either be a

Research Into Music Video Conventions
In this post, I will be listing some conventional characteristics of music videos that I've found during my research, and then deciding which ones I would like to use in my own music video. Here are the conventions: In my music video, I'll be using a Narrative style because I don't really have the possibility of filming the band as they're performing; but I don't think this will be an issue, because I was planning on making the video very abstract anyway, as I think it will
